If you have a hangover today you should watch anything by Werner Herzog and his demon powered leading man Klaus Kinski. These movies are some of the best ever made. I spent four years studying acting in a drama conservatory. I know high art when I see it. Kinski is the best actor I have ever seen. I have been fascinated by his work since I was a teenager. I am just beginning to understand his brilliance.

Aguirre, the Wrath of God is available on Netflix watch instantly. I'll be downstairs until about five if anyone needs me. You gotta love a Strong Island Iced Tea!

I am pleased to announce that I am back on a bicycle. With a little help from a friend and 80 dollars, I was able to put ‘big blue’ together last night. He has one less brake, no handlebar tape, weighs a few more pounds, goes down hills fast, accelerates slow, 17-48t gear ratio, is 3cm taller, and definitely leads the way. All in all, I would say that he is 16% more dangerous.

Added note: I didn’t notice until I got home that the chain I bought is gold, so there is some added ‘bling’ to give big blue some street credit.

The Blue Angel Rides Again

Dominic came over on Wednesday. He grabbed Brandons old frame and a
bunch of parts out of my roach bin and "Bam" the next day he had given
the BunnYHawkS a new bike child.

I realy do apreciate the asthetic of a cruely stripped down street
bike. It's kinda like seeing a pair of women's underwear in the street
or watching a fist fight. All three are beautiful because they are
part mystery and part horror.

If I had my way I would change the name of the bike to "Fist Fight".
I'm pretty sure that is what it's going to feel like to ride it.

I have to admit that I'm still secretly in love with the Carl Sagan remix Blaise posted last fall. It was truly a gift, so with his birthday being yesterday, I'd like to give him a gift. The gift of giving people an opportunity to make him a Happy Birthday Apple Pie!! (from scratch of course)

Its Blaise's birthday today. You should meet him at Kings and buy him a beer.

If that isn't possible because you work in the morning, are sick or otherwise unable to attend the festivities, fear not you will have the opportunity to express your feelings of friendship, kinship and love this Friday.

We will meet Blaise at his house in the morning for mimosas and then roll down to Voula's Offshore Cafe for Eggs Benedict. Then we will ride some more. We will ride throughout the day and then meet the working stiffs at GWP at 6:30pm for a merry-go-round of favorite haunts.

The night will end with another champagne toast in view of a large and historically significant body of water beneath the light of the moon somewhere in Ballard. (Is there anything in Crown Hill that fits that description?)

Domino Turns 13!!!

Rolling Party on Wednesday to celebrate every BunnYHawKs favorite day of the month.

But wait there is more... Yes, it is the Thirteenth, it is also Dominic's birthday!!!!

We start at Shorty's at 6:13. We will be at Recycled Cycles by 7:13 for beer and a look at some cool bikes (D needs a new whip). We will then roll in running formation directly to Squid and Ink for dinner via an untested route. We will finish the night with a champagne toast (and botowokets) at the river where we can all scream happy birthday in Dominic's ear.
Post ride reception at 9lb until the birthday boy needs to go to the airport for his b-day trip to Oaxaca or where ever the hell it is they are going now.

Be there or be cursed. Attendance is mandatory. The gods demand sacrifice!

Here is the plan for Friday, January 8th if you want to join:

Meet in Georgetown at the Nine Pound Hammer at 6:00 pm.
Drink the nectar of the gods until 7:15.
See if Hallava Falafel is there and eat Falafel. If this isn't the case, we grab something fast.
Ride to Greenlake area to go to ZOO!
High-tail it to the Baranof.
Sing and or Drink.

Uhh... wait. What happens? Oh yeah, someone takes your crappy bicycle that you love a lot.

Bummer. But I am not too bummed out. I have been wanting a new bicycle lately, and this is the sort of thing that kicks you into *gear.

I am bummed out because I was about to POST the Lucky 13 ride on next Wednesday. It is my birthday (sorta) ride, and all i wanted to do was end at Smarty Pants.

Maybe Burglar will lend me his bike or something. But until then... MMMUUUUHHHHH.
